4x4 Suspension and Lift Kits — Gold Coast & Tweed
4x4 suspension upgrades and lift kits across the Gold Coast and Tweed. If your 4WD sags under load, wallows behind a van or crashes over corrugations, the suspension is the fix.
Factory 4WD suspension is tuned for an empty vehicle on a smooth road. Add a bull bar, a canopy, drawers, water, a rooftop tent and a van on the back, and the springs are past their useful range before you have left the driveway. That shows up as a nose-high stance, poor steering feel, bottoming out on dirt roads and a tail that moves around under braking. Upgraded suspension restores the vehicle's designed geometry with the load it actually carries — the single biggest safety and comfort improvement available to a touring 4x4.
What's Included
Choosing the Right Suspension for Your Load
The most important number in a suspension job is not the amount of lift, it is the constant load the vehicle carries. Springs are rated for weight, and a spring chosen for a bare vehicle will sag under a loaded canopy just as surely as a spring rated too heavy will ride like a cart when empty. We weigh up your permanent accessories, your typical touring load and your tow ball download before we select anything.
A quality kit is a package: springs, shocks, bump stops and the correction parts that keep steering and driveline angles right after a lift. Skimp on the shocks and you get a vehicle that lifts nicely and handles badly. We fit complete, matched kits and align the vehicle afterwards.
Lift Kits Done Properly
A 2-inch lift gives most 4WDs better clearance, better approach and departure angles and room for larger tyres, without the compliance headaches and driveline problems that come with going higher. But raising a vehicle changes castor, driveshaft angles, brake line lengths and steering geometry — and ignoring those is how a lifted 4x4 ends up with vague steering and vibration.
We fit lifts with the correction components included, check brake lines and driveshaft angles, replace tired bushes at the same time while access is easy, and finish with a proper wheel alignment and a road test.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much lift can I fit and stay legal?
In NSW and Queensland a 2-inch lift is generally the practical limit without engineering, and it suits the vast majority of touring 4WDs. Anything beyond that needs certification, and we will advise you on what your build requires.
Will new suspension improve towing stability?
Significantly. Correct load-rated springs and quality shocks stop the rear squatting under tow ball download, which restores steering weight on the front axle and dramatically reduces sway.
How long does a suspension upgrade take?
Most kits are a one-day job including alignment. Call 0402 041 807 for a firm booking and quote.
Do I need a wheel alignment afterwards?
Always. Changing ride height changes camber, castor and toe. We include an alignment and a road test with every suspension job.
